The MOVER story
Background Mover originated in Sweden in the 1980s where at the time it was a well-known innovator, incorporating and popularising the use of the then new Gore-Tex technology in outerwear.
In 2004, Swiss entrepreneur and ski fanatic, Nicolas Rochat, who hails from the Hans Grohe industrial family and a prestigious design background bought Mover 100%. Now headquartered in Lausanne, Mover has experienced a true renaissance in design, production and distribution.
Rebirth Mover represents clothes with an edge, technically superior, innovative and decisively fashion forward. It has taken a steadfast decision, unprecedented amongst its peers, to manufacture exclusively in Europe. This ensures streamlined production, efficient communication, and takes advantage of the incredible motivation specialist European suppliers have to focus on quality. All research and development is done by an in-house design team in collaboration with Swiss freeride skier Dominique Perret who endorses Mover, and the best European fabric producers, to develop technological innovations often unique to Mover.
Mover's look today Mover is easily distinguished on and off the mountains with its strikingly graphic, tailored clean styles and colours, its elegant parkas, and luxurious basics. Mover is essentially a design company seeking innovative and beautifully crafted solutions to dressing for our modern day pursuits of sport, travel and leisure - urban and alpine. Recently spottedhigh profile wearers include Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Charlotte Gainsbourg, both recognised contemporary style icons.
As users of Mover are fast realising to their delight, natural fibres such as pure merino wool are the way forward in comfort, style and performance, not to mention eco-friendliness. For 2010/11 Mover is marketing a comprehensive 100% superfine pure NZ wool concept collection expanding our existing wool pieces. These have been an enormous success to date.
