Collection 2012-2013

Mover had the lightest padded garments on earth. We had the warmest multiple layer solutions. We had stretch fabrics and the best breathable and waterproof membranes available. We added comfort by using pure merino wool and eliminating all synthetic fibers from our base layers.

Yet, this system was not complete. Inside our jackets and pants, the polyester fibers used to create warmth, the “padding”, although magically light, was not sufficiently breathable. As a result, a padded garment was ideal to go up the mountain on a chairlift, but paradoxically, could turn too warm when skiing down. Physical activity creates important heat peaks inside a padded garment.

Any Alpinist knows that warmth is cold’s worst enemy on a mountain. Warmth means sweat, sweat means humidity, humidity means cold, bad thermal balance, discomfort, threat.

The key is breathability. How could we create an optimal thermal regulation ? The answer was lying in front of our eyes : our dog capable of enduring extreme low temperatures, rain and snow, without freezing, yet able to stay closer to a fire than any human being, comfortably and for hours.

Indeed, the solution was to use natural fibers and their unique and magical property to insulate, breathe, evacuate, exchange. Eliminate all synthetic barrier between the skin and the membrane. A zero nylon policy!

Mover is proud to be the first brand to propose a 100% natural padding, together with a natural lining, inside a Gore-Tex® ski garment. Never too cold, never too warm, the secret of all animals on earth and Mover’s signature.
